The GNWT is committed to supporting the well-being and safety of residents by focusing on mental health and addictions through locally delivered services with culturally-appropriate methods. The Mental Health Framework will guide us in transforming the NWT mental health system.
Future Regulation of Naturopathic Practitioners—Questions or Comments
Public consultation on the proposed key elements for the future Naturopathic Profession Regulation took place from July 29th – August 31st, 2016. The Department would like to thank residents for providing their feedback.
Medical Assistance in Dying
As of June 6, 2016, doctors in the NWT are allowed to provide medical assistance in dying. Our priority is to protect both patients and health care providers involved in medical assistance in dying. Medical Assistance in Dying Interim Guidelines have been developed to ensure this service is provided in a safe, fair and consistent manner in the Northwest Territories.

Check the bottom right hand corner of your health care card for expiry date.

You are responsible for renewing your health care card. Renewal can be completed four months in advance of the expiry date.
