Mould and Air Quality

Water soaked walls, insulation, carpets and furniture make a good place for mould to grow.  Some types of mould can cause the following health problems:

  • respiratory problems;
  • allergies;
  • skin infections; and
  • rashes.

Removal of water soaked items from the home, as well as drying the home should be done as soon as possible after flooding to help reduce mould growth.

Note: Obtain approval from assessors, insurance agents and other relevant agencies before discarding or destroying any furniture or equipment.
