Glen Abernethy: Pharmaceutical Action Plan

Mr. Speaker, an equitable and sustainable health care system is one of the priorities of the 17th Assembly. One way we can support this priority is by improving the management of pharmaceuticals.

Mr. Speaker, to date, provincial and territorial governments have each made significant efforts to address the challenges and manage pharmaceuticals in a way that maximizes patient health outcomes while contributing to system sustainability.

Glen Abernethy: Working Together: An Action Plan to Reduce and Eliminate Poverty in the Northwest Territories

Mr. Speaker, at the appropriate time today I will table “Working Together: An Action Plan to Reduce and Eliminate Poverty in the Northwest Territories.” This collaborative Action Plan demonstrates our government’s commitment to work in partnership with other stakeholders to tackle poverty in the Northwest Territories. It builds on the great work that produced “Building on the Strengths of Northerners”, the Anti-Poverty Strategic Framework, in 2013.

Glen Abernethy: Building Stronger Families – Milestones Achieved in 2014-2015

Mr. Speaker, in October 2014, I tabled Building Stronger Families – An Action Plan to Transform Child and Family Services supporting the Government’s commitment to improve the quality of child and family services for those receiving services under the Child and Family Services Act. I am pleased to provide an update to Members on the progress to date and implementation of our Action Plan to Transform Child and Family Services.

Public showing of the movie, “Our Healing Journey”

YELLOWKNIFE (May 12, 2015) - YHSSA and the Lutsel K’e Dene First Nation (LKDFN) Chief and Council invite the public to a screening of “Our Healing Journey”.   It shows the journey that the community of Lutsel K’e, the LKDFN Chief & Council have followed to address the problem of substance abuse in the community.  A panel discussion will follow the movie. This event is open to the public and admission is free.
