On March 4 2014, the Office of the Auditor General of Canada released its Report on the NWT Child and Family Services. The Department accepted all of the recommendations laid out in the Auditor General’s Report and developed a Work Plan identifying both short and long term actions to implement all of the 11 recommendations.
In April and May 2014, the Minister and Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services appeared in front of the Standing Committee on Government Operations (SCOGO) to discuss the OAG Report. In preparation for the May appearance, Standing Committee wrote to the Minister and provided 81 questions regarding the results of the Auditor General’s Report. The Department has provided the Standing Committee on Government Operations with a detailed response to their letter and the questions:
